Proposed Swak Airline Not Into Buying Aircrafts, Adopts Different Business Model

PORT DICKSON, Sun: The State Government’s proposal to set up an airline service to increase air connectivity to Sarawak would not involve any purchase of aircrafts, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Zohari said, here, today.

The Chief Minister said this in his speech when officiating at the closing of Sarawak Civil Service High Performance (HPT) Retreat, here.

Drawing example from his experience, he said that Sarawak in adopting a different business model it had the choice of leasing the aircrafts as this would provide a more viable option compared to buying them.

He said direct services from points overseas straight to Kuching would be more convenient to tourists.

With proper promotion and image building overseas, he expressed his confidence that Sarawak’s tourism potentials could be well-exploited.
